The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program or MPNP has issued 456 invitations for PR to candidates in all three categories— Skilled Worker Overseas, Skilled Worker in Manitoba and International Education immigration streams. The draw was held on January 31, 2019.

These three categories will use an Expression of Interest (EOI) to shortlist the candidates.

The Government of Manitoba has mandated all eligible candidates, who are willing to apply for immigration through MPNP’s International Education Steam, to join an information session before submitting any forms.

The EOI system requires candidates to register a profile with the MPNP and submit the required information on their education, work, and language proficiency. The Letter of Advice to Apply or LAA will be given to the highest-scoring candidates through regular draws. Recently, LAAs were issued to some candidates in the federal Express Entry system through the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream’s Express Entry Pathway.

The Express Entry system is responsible for three of Canada’s main immigration categories namely the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class. A candidate is required to have registered profiles with both the Express Entry system and MPNP’s EOI system to get eligible for this pathway. The MPNP also issued over 120 invitations to skilled workers with scores lower than 570-575. Besides, 17 invitations have been sent to the candidates belonging to International Education Steam.

This stream was launched last year to provide a quick route to PR for international graduates of Manitoba’s post-secondary educational institutions who have qualifications and skills required by the province’s employers. The International Education Stream has been divided into Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway.CATEGORIES
