What is Express Entry?

The Express Entry is a system that is used by the government of Canada so they could easily manage the Canadian Permanent Residence Applications for filling labour gaps through the certain economic immigration programs.

This program was launched on January 1, 2015 and has been used for bringing in Permanent Residents in the country. The system is also used to select and communicate with skilled and qualified applicants along with managing a pool of immigration ready skilled workers.

This type of system was specifically made to facilitate express immigration of Skilled Workers in Canada that are more likely to succeed in a economical way

Who is eligible for Express Entry?

Candidates that have a university degree along with work experience in specific fields and proper capabilities of speaking in French or English are more likely to be eligible for this type of system.

Requirements For Express Entry

Here are some of the basic requirements for Express Entry Program:

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a skilled occupation
  • Pass an approved language test in English
  • Pass an approved language test in French
  • Completed post-secondary education (should be matching the standards of Canada)

How much does Express Entry Cost?

The total cost of Express Entry depends on where you are. But if you are in Canada, the cost should be like this:

  • Language tests – $300
  • ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) – $200 to $300
  • Biometrics – $85 (may change)
  • Adult Government Fee – $1325
  • Child Government Fee – $225
  • Adult Medical Examination Fee – $450
  • Child Medical Examination Fee – $250
  • Police Clearance Certificate – $100
